CuraPath ("we", "our", or "us") is a mobile app that helps patients follow their hospital discharge instructions. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: your name and email address when you register.
• Discharge content: photos or PDFs of your hospital discharge paperwork that you upload. We process these with AI to extract your care instructions.
• Health activity data: medication logs, daily check-in responses, and symptom reports you enter in the app.
• Care team information: your provider's phone number if you choose to add it.
• Device information: your time zone (used to schedule reminders at the correct local time).

2. How We Use Your Information

• To display your personalized recovery plan and reminders.
• To send push notifications for medications and daily check-ins (only if you grant permission).
• To allow you to track medication adherence and symptom check-ins over time.
• We do not sell your data to third parties.
• We do not use your health data for advertising.

3. AI Processing

Uploaded documents are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to extract structured care instructions. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their Privacy Policy. We do not store the raw image or PDF after processing is complete.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure cloud servers. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text. Access tokens expire after one hour; refresh tokens expire after 30 days. All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated health data at any time from the Settings screen in the app. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.

6. Children's Privacy

CuraPath is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Your Rights

• Access: you can view all your data within the app at any time.
• Deletion: you can delete your account and all data from Settings → "Delete my account & data".
• Portability: contact us to request an export of your data.

CuraPath is a personal care-tracking tool, not a medical device. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. AI-extracted content may contain errors — always refer to your original discharge paperwork and contact your care team with any health concerns. In an emergency, call 911.
